Los Vientos de García

Welcome to Los Vientos de García.

 ABOUT US

El Hotelito, also known as LOS VIENTOS DE GARCIA, is a family affair.   This small and intimate five-suite bed and breakfast is owned and operated by Doctor Martha and Abe Solis.  Lending a hand in operations are their three fully bilingual and bicultural children.  Dr. Martha and little Abe, (20 years old), head up the gourmet kitchen, 15 and 18 year old Jessica and Erika, are the wait staff, while father Abe directs the operation from his perch behind the beautiful, hand made wooden bar.

Abe is originally from St. Louis, and is a retired Union Pacific railroad man.  Back in 1983 American born Abe was transferred by the railroad to Monterrey, Mexico.   There he met the lovely Martha, who was born in Chihuahua and is a retired physician.  Since then their three lovely children arrived on the scene, all of who are currently full time students.  Make sure you check out the lovely paintings that decorate the place, all done by the very talented daughters.

All five members of the Solis family were involved in the renovation and construction of LOS VIENTOS DE GARCIA.   The family purchased the two hundred year old Spanish hacienda back in 1988.  Converting the old adobe house into the beautiful bed and breakfast that it is today, and the additions, took many years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, on the part of the entire family.  Little by little, the many improvements were made, all in keeping within the style of a hacienda.   The restaurant-bar and luxury suites were constructed in 1997, and the large swimming pool and Jacuzzi were added in 2003.

While the kids are in school during the week, the family is assisted by the capable and friendly Vicky Iracheta, the manager, assisted by Lupita and Imelda. All is kept secure by the always alert and vigilant Señor Miguel -, who is the night watchman and keeper of the front gate.

The entire Solis family and staff at Los Vientos de Garcia hope that you will come and visit them.  It gives them great satisfaction to share their little piece of paradise, tucked away in the high sierra Madre Mountains, just 40 minutes from downtown Monterrey, Mexico. They have put their lives into this lovely old pecan orchard, and their personal touches are evident everywhere.
